If it’s available in your area, there are lots of reasons to choose BeFibre as your broadband provider.

  • Speeds of up to 2.3Gbps where the infrastructure allows it
  • No set-up costs, even when they’re sending an engineer
  • Independently funded and laying their own cables
  • No price hikes partway through your contract
  • Help leaving your existing contract

What is BeFibre broadband?

BeFibre is the customer-facing side of network provider FullFibre.

While most broadband providers use the BT Openreach infrastructure, BeFibre’s parent company operates its own network of internet cables. In other words, it’s an altnet. Coverage has reached 16 counties in England and is growing.

In January 2025, FullFibre announced a merger with Zzoomm that will create one of the UK’s largest altnets.

BeFibre broadband packages

Be Fibre offer home broadband packages in four speed categories:

  • Be150 (150Mbps)
  • Be500 (500Mbps)
  • Be900 (900Mbps)
  • Be2300 (2,300Mbps or 2.3Gbps, which is gigabit broadband)

These are all available in three different contract lengths:

All BeFibre broadband packages come with a 30-day Be Guarantee, which means if you're unhappy with your new connection, you can cancel it within a month at no extra charge.

BeFibre broadband speeds

When home broadband providers advertise a speed, they’re talking about the download speed. The upload speed might be a fifth or a tenth of that. It’s not common for residential broadband to offer upload speeds that match the download rates, although it’s standard with pricier business broadband.

So it’s a real benefit that every BeFibre broadband package provides symmetrical upload and download speeds.

Symmetrical speeds are a serious bonus if your online activity includes:

  • Gaming
  • Video calls
  • Working in the cloud

It makes for a smoother, less laggy online experience.

BeFibre broadband costs

BeFibre makes a point of having no sneaky extra charges. This means:

  • No setup fees
  • No installation fees
  • No charge for providing or sending the router
  • No mid-contract price hikes

As you’d expect, you pay more each month for the flexibility of shorter contracts. For the lowest BeFibre speed of 150Mbps, prices are:

  • £23/month for 12 or 18 months
  • £32/month for the FlexiMonth rolling contract

At the top end of the speed scale, the Be2300 package is £55/month for full contracts and £70/month for a rolling deal.[2]
