When is Black Friday and Cyber Monday?

This year, Black Friday is on 28 November and Cyber Monday is on 1 December. Black Friday is always the fourth Friday in November, one day after Thanksgiving in the US. Cyber Monday is always the Monday after Black Friday.

Like other discounted products, Black Friday and Cyber Monday broadband deals aren’t normally reserved for just these two days. Most broadband providers start unveiling their Black Friday deals a couple of weeks in advance, so you’ve got plenty of opportunity to snag a great deal on your next tariff.

For example, established operators like BT and Virgin Media offer broadband only deals, with the latter using its own independent cable network to get you connected. 2. Decide whether you want any extras

Lots of broadband providers include extras, such as TV channels, as a way of attracting customers during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend. Just make sure they’re extras you actually want, especially if you’re paying for them.

3. See what perks are available

Some broadband providers include complimentary gift vouchers and other perks as part of their Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals. But don’t be won over by this alone. You want to make sure you’re happy with your broadband deal long after you’ve spent your voucher.

4. Check the full cost of your contract

5. Check if you can switch immediately

Check your current contract to see if you can switch during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend. If you’re halfway through an existing contract, your provider will charge you an early termination fee, which could wipe out any savings you’d make from a new deal. Is it easy to switch broadband providers during Black Friday?

Yes. As long as you’re out of contract with your current provider, it’s just as easy to switch your broadband during Black Friday as it is at any other time of year. Start by comparing our Black Friday deals to find one that suits your needs and your budget.

Is Cyber Monday cheaper than Black Friday deals?

It’s hard to say for certain but based on previous years, we’d expect to see similar if not the same broadband deals over the whole of the Black Friday weekend. That’s because broadband isn’t a physical product, so providers don’t need to use Cyber Monday to shift unsold stock.

Having said this, some Black Friday deals are limited, so if you see a deal you like it’s best to snap it up, rather than waiting until Cyber Monday.

Is it worth waiting for Black Friday broadband deals?

No. If you’re out of contract with your broadband provider, the best time to switch is always right now. That’s because providers increase your monthly costs significantly once your minimum term is up. So if you’re out of contract, you’re almost certainly paying a lot more than you need to for your internet.
