Compare Hyperoptic Packages
While the big household names tend to dominate the broadband market, there are other providers you should consider when looking for a good deal, like Hyperoptic.
Key points
- Hyperoptic broadband is widely available throughout the United Kingdom
- Hyperoptic offers both home and business broadband
- Its hyperfast broadband reaches speeds of up to 1Gbps
What is Hyperoptic?
Hyperoptic was founded in 2011 to provide the UK with hyperfast broadband. It works in partnership with a number of freeholders, property managers, residents and developers to deliver high speed fibre service to a range of businesses and homes.
Hyperoptic aims to provide internet services that are ‘future-proof’. This means cables would be fitted straight to your door, rather than being filtered through a street cabinet. This helps Hyperoptic to compete with the copper cables of other brands and consistently maintain its fast connection speeds.
What sort of broadband does Hyperoptic offer?
Hyperoptic offers both home and business broadband packages, which are provided over its own dedicated cable network.
Home broadband
For home broadband, you can choose between a broadband only package, or a broadband and phone deal. For both types, Hyperoptic offers a range of speeds. You can also either roll over your package monthly or commit to a year. Both types of packages are full fibre.
Hyperoptic currently offers the following broadband packages:
- Fast - 50Mbps
- Superfast - 150Mbps
- Ultrafast - 500Mbps
- Hyperfast - 1Gbps
All Hyperoptic home broadband packages come with a free hyperhub router, 24/7 customer support, unlimited data usage and there’s no need for a landline. Upload and download speeds are the same, except with its Fast broadband package, which features upload speeds of 5Mbps.
Business broadband
If you’re looking for fast internet for your business, Hyperoptic offers broadband, broadband and phone, and dedicated fibre packages, available as monthly rolling, 12 month or 24-month contracts.
These are available in the same packages as the home broadband – Fast, Superfast, Ultrafast and Hyperfast.
All business packages have unlimited data usage, no need for a landline, 24/7 customer support, one static IP address with the option to purchase more and a five-hour Service Level Agreement.
Monthly rolling contracts are more expensive than the fixed term options. The longer you commit to a package, the cheaper it costs per month.
Hyperoptic’s dedicated fibre options for business customers come in two speeds – Fast and Hyperfast.
Why choose Hyperoptic?
Hyperoptic offer their customers a number of benefits:

If you enjoy streaming, Hyperoptic broadband can be used across all major platforms.

Can I get cheaper Hyperoptic Broadband deals?
There are a few ways you can get broadband at a lower cost with Hyperoptic –
- Social tariff broadband – With Hyperoptic’s Fair Fibre Plan , those on benefits can get discounted high-quality broadband. You can get this with or without a home phone.
- Student broadband – Hyperoptic offers a discounted fibre broadband package with £0 activation fee and prices from £23. You can get anything from 50Mbps to 1Gbps, depending on your needs.
How does Hyperoptic full fibre broadband work?
Hyperoptic uses full fibre connections to deliver faster, more reliable internet. It does this by running fibre optic cables directly from the exchange into your property, thereby avoiding any outdated copper telephone lines that could cause signal drops and speed loss due to high latency.
Unlike many traditional providers, Hyperoptic skips the step of using older copper wiring, which hybrid fibre services still use for the final stretch from the nearest street cabinet to your home. With full fibre, you can expect a more stable and consistent broadband connection - even at peak usage times.
How fast is Hyperoptic broadband?
Hyperoptic offers a choice of full-fibre broadband packages with speeds ranging from 50Mbps to 1Gbps:
- Fast - 50Mbps – perfect for light internet use like browsing and email
- Superfast - 150Mbps – great for households with a few users streaming, gaming or working from home
- Ultrafast - 500Mbps – ideal for larger families or heavy data users who need fast, seamless connectivity across multiple devices
- Hyperfast - 1Gbps – built for data-heavy activities such as 4K streaming, large file uploads, and smooth performance across many devices at once
All Hyperoptic broadband deals feature symmetrical speeds, meaning your upload speed is just as fast as your download. This helps make everyday activities like video conferencing, online gaming, and remote working more convenient.

You can pick a date and time that works for you, which includes the next day itself or even Saturdays. Installation takes about an hour and your Wi-Fi will be up and running straightaway. Or, you can plug in the Wi-Fi Hub yourself if you don’t need an engineer to help you out.

- 12 months

FAQs
How long does it take to install Hyperoptic?
Installing Hyperoptic broadband normally takes one hour.
It can take longer depending on property type and where inside your home you’re having the work done.
Once they’ve set up their equipment, the engineer tasked with installing your Hyperoptic broadband will drill a small hole (about 1cm). They’ll then run fibre cabling of about 10m (though it can be longer if needed) to your chosen power socket.
This completes the installation process, and you should be able to activate Hyperoptic straight away.
Does Hyperoptic come with a router?
Yes, all Hyperoptic broadband deals feature a free router - the hyperhub.
This dual-band router works exclusively on Hyperoptic's network, helping deliver the fastest possible connection to your home.
Depending on what package you pick, Hyperoptic could send a router from any of these manufacturers:
- Zyxel
- Nokia
- ZTE
- Tilgin
Broadband routers included with Hyperoptic’s fastest packages will have a gigabit port.
Does Hyperoptic provide a landline?
No, Hyperoptic doesn’t provide a landline because its internet doesn’t need one to run.
It does, however, offer Broadband & Phone packages, which work via your internet connection.
If you choose a package with Hyperoptic’s phone service, it uses Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). For this to work, you’ll need to plug your phone into the hyperhub router.
How much does it cost to cancel a Hyperoptic contract?
Cancelling your 12- or 24-month Hyperoptic contract before the minimum term is up means paying an early exit fee. This is calculated based on how many months are left on your tariff, as well as any outstanding payments.
Most broadband switches now take place through Ofcom’s One Touch Switch process, meaning you shouldn’t have to worry about a notice period (typically 30 days). However, it’s best to double-check with your new provider before skipping this step.
The new provider should contact Hyperoptic to let them know when the switch is going live, with no communication necessary on your part. Your Hyperoptic service will then automatically cease working on that day.
