Who owns NOW Broadband?

Starting out as a streaming service and subsidiary of Sky, NOW began by providing access to the network's most sought-after shows.

Its appeal was that you didn't need a lengthy contract or satellite dish to enjoy premium programming – with a NOW TV subscription, you could watch all kinds of popular entertainment with just a few taps on the app.

Still owned by Sky, NOW has gone on to offer competitive ADSL and fibre optic broadband alongside great value TV packages. It's ideal if you're a customer looking for more convenient home entertainment and communications services.

NOW Broadband packages

You can choose from three superfast broadband packages when comparing NOW Broadband deals:

Brilliant Broadband: For general browsing, casual social media use and light streaming.
Fab Fibre: For HD streaming content and playing games online.
Super Fibre: For working from home or if you have a larger household with multiple people and devices using the internet at once.

All NOW Broadband packages include a 12-month minimum term with no activation fee (although there is a £5 delivery charge for the equipment).

Also, a landline is included with all NOW Broadband packages. You don’t have to use it, but if you’re considering a home phone deal, you have three options here:

Evenings and weekend (£4/month, plus inclusive calls to UK landline and mobile numbers)
Anytime calls (£8/month, plus inclusive calls to UK landline and mobile numbers)

How do I get NOW Broadband?

If you’d prefer to discuss your options with NOW Broadband’s customer service team, you can call its general number on 0330 3323 050. The line’s open 8am to 8pm, Monday to Sunday.

How do I get NOW Broadband if I’m moving house?

If you’re already with NOW Broadband and you’re moving, get in touch to tell them your new address. They’ll let you know if your current membership is available there, and what other packages may be available.

If you’re not with NOW Broadband already, just cancel your existing broadband package when you move, and arrange the best NOW Broadband deal for your moving-in date.

How do I switch to NOW Broadband?

NOW Broadband is on the Openreach network, so coverage is extensive, and will be available in most areas. Once you’ve decided which deal to go for, get in touch with NOW Broadband and they can arrange your switch.

If you’re with a non-cable provider – such as BT, EE, TalkTalk or Plusnet – NOW Broadband will arrange the cancellation with them, saving you an awkward phone call. However, if you’re switching from Virgin Media, you’ll have to get in touch and let them know your NOW Broadband activation date.

Can I switch to NOW broadband for free?

Generally speaking, you have to pay a fee for ending your contract early with your existing broadband provider. That said, you’ll probably be able to end your contract without incurring a penalty if any of these apply:

You’re no longer in the minimum contract period
The download speeds you’re getting are lower than your provider advertised
Prices are going up within the agreed contract period

In the last case, you have 30 days from when you were told of the price rise to cancel your contract. Then you’ll be able to get out of your contract, so you can make the switch without penalty.

How do I get NOW mobile broadband?

Can I get NOW Broadband in my area?

NOW Broadband uses Openreach to deliver its home internet services, and because the Openreach network is so widely accessible, you should be able to find NOW Broadband deals almost anywhere in the country.

NOW Broadband router and setup

Most of the time, setting up NOW Broadband involves receiving your router in the post, plugging it into your home’s master socket (using the cables provided), and waiting for your new internet connection to go live.

It may take a couple of hours for the switch to fully complete, so don’t be alarmed if you’re temporarily disconnected.

If you’re upgrading your broadband (going from ADSL to fibre optic, for example), then an engineer may need to visit your property so they can facilitate this new connection.

In any case, when you first get NOW Broadband, it could take a few days to stabilise. Afterwards, though, you should be back up and running.

Is NOW Broadband any good?

Credit checks are often part and parcel of signing up to a new broadband package.

Fortunately, that’s not the case with NOW Broadband. Simply create a NOW TV account, then add broadband once setup is complete.

While setting up your account, NOW will take 10p to ensure both your bank account and card are valid.
