It doesn't just offer broadband - you also have the option to add on a landline or TV package.
Key points
- TalkTalk offers full fibre broadband with top speeds of over 900Mbps
- No set-up fees, even if you need an engineer visit
- Contracts are all for 24 months
What are the best TalkTalk packages available?
TalkTalk offers a range of broadband packages at different speeds. Although its fastest deal gives you a lot of bandwidth, you might find that a slower speed category delivers more than enough at a cheaper monthly cost.
Full Fibre 900 is the speediest on offer from TalkTalk, with an average download speed of 944 Mbps. As of November 2025, this costs £30 a month, rising to £33 in April 2026.
The second fastest speed from TalkTalk is the Full Fibre 500 deal, with an average download speed of 525 Mbps. It's £30 per month.
500Mbps is still extremely fast and probably a lot more than you actually need. But given that it’s currently the same price at the Full Fibre 900 deal, you might as well go for the faster speeds if this plan is available where you live.
Or, you could save some money and go for Full Fibre 150 at £25 a month. The average download speed of 152 Mbps is still fast enough for high-resolution streaming on multiple devices at the same time.

What does TalkTalk Fibre 65 include?
TalkTalk Fibre 65 is the faster of TalkTalk's two hybrid fibre deals. It includes:
- Broadband with an average download speed of 77 Mbps
- Free setup
- TalkTalk's standard Wi-Fi hub router
- Home Safe web filter for virus protection and parental controls

We can help you compare broadband and TV deals from a range of providers.
How fast is Talktalk broadband and what speeds can I get?
TalkTalk has full fibre broadband products in five main speed categories:
| TalkTalk broadband package | Average download speed | Minimum download speed |
|---|---|---|
| Full Fibre 65 | 77 Mbps | 55 Mbps |
| Full Fibre 150 | 152 Mbps | 120 Mbps |

TalkTalk is one of the providers to sign up to Ofcom's voluntary code of practice for home broadband providers. So if they don't deliver the guaranteed minimum speeds, you can leave your contract early without paying the usual exit fees.
Why choose TalkTalk broadband?
TalkTalk is the UK provider with the most extensive fibre coverage, so it’s a popular choice if you want fast speeds. It’s also known for its competitive prices, meaning you can get fast broadband without breaking the bank.
Of course, it's always worth doing a quick comparison of the deals available in your area before you choose a broadband provider. But here are some pros and cons to help you decide whether or not to switch to TalkTalk:
Pros
It has a reputation for competitive pricing
TalkTalk full fibre deals come with an Amazon eero router. Faster speeds get a higher-spec version
The TalkTalk TV add-on is cheap and low-commitment
Landline add-ons are flexible
TalkTalk is part of Ofcom's voluntary code on guaranteed broadband speeds
Cons
As of May 2025, TalkTalk is the most complained-about provider of fixed broadband services in the UK
TalkTalk also has an above-average number of complaints about its landline services
Several Trustpilot reviews in November 2025 say that TalkTalk makes it very difficult to cancel your contract
How much is TalkTalk broadband?
TalkTalk has a range of deals at different speeds and prices. Here are the monthly costs for TalkTalk broadband-only packages as of November 2025.
| TalkTalk broadband (basic package) | Monthly price |
|---|---|
| Fibre 35 | £26 |
| Fibre 65 | £26 |
| Full Fibre 65 | £26 |
| Full Fibre 150 | £25 |
| Full Fibre 500 | £30 |
| Full Fibre 900 | £30 |
As you can see, faster speeds don't necessarily cost more. If your home is still on a hybrid fibre connection, it's well worth seeing if you can get upgraded to full fibre to enjoy more speed for your money.
Does TalkTalk offer any add-ons or extras?
You can get two extra services with TalkTalk broadband:
- Landline
- TV
There are also two useful extra features:
- TotalHome Wi-Fi
- SuperSafe
Landline calls
You don't need a landline to get TalkTalk broadband but you can add one to your package for an extra charge. On top of this, you can then add on a Home Phone Boost to make the most of your landline:
- £10 a month for evening and weekend calls
- £16 a month for Unlimited UK: all the inland calls you like
- £14 a month for the International Max plan (1,500 minutes of overseas calls)
All the home phone add-ons have a contract for just a month, making it easy to cancel if you're not using it.
TalkTalk TV
The TalkTalk TV Hub gives you access to all the traditional Freeview channels through its YouView box. You can access streaming services on this platform but they're not included in the TalkTalk TV add-on.
TalkTalk TV packages have one simple price: £5 a month on top of whatever you're paying for the broadband.
TotalHome Wi-Fi
This TalkTalk add-on enhances the Wi-Fi signal around your home by supplying a booster, tech support and an engineer visit if required. For £8 extra each month you get guaranteed coverage in every room.
SuperSafe
On top of its standard security features, TalkTalk offers the option of adding SuperSafe at £6 a month. This includes:
- Internet security software for up to 10 devices
- A password manager
- Banking protection
There's also a broadband parental controls feature in addition to TalkTalk's standard offering Homesafe.
How do I switch to TalkTalk broadband?
- First check that you're free to switch - If you're still on a fixed contract with another provider, you'll probably have to pay a penalty to move
- Use our address checker to see what TalkTalk deals are available in your area
- When you've chosen one, click 'Get deal' to sign up on the TalkTalk website
There's no need to manage the transition between your old provider and TalkTalk. A system called One Touch Switch, brought in by Ofcom in 2024, means that TalkTalk will handle all that for you.
TalkTalk reviews
TalkTalk currently has a rating of 2.6 on independent review site Trustpilot. Lots of customers have complained about its poor customer service, while others have praised its easy setup and fast speeds.
Our latest update on Ofcom broadband complaints has TalkTalk topping the charts for the wrong reasons. It’s the most complained-about provider of fixed broadband services and most complained-about landline provider.
How to get in contact with TalkTalk
The main TalkTalk contact number is 0345 172 0088. Its phone lines are open Monday to Friday 9am to 7pm and on Saturday from 9am to 6pm. The sales department is the only team you can call on a Sunday.
- Press 1 for anything to do with broadband or TalkTalk TV
- Press 2 for TalkTalk mobile queries
The phone lines have different opening times depending on which department you need.
There's a live chat option on the website. You'll have to supply a chatbot with information about your issue before you can get through to a real person. It'll save time if you log into your account before accessing the chat feature.
Recent Trustpilot reviews suggest that one of the biggest negatives about being a TalkTalk customer is how hard it is to get through to a human.
Alternative providers to TalkTalk
If TalkTalk isn't for you, there are plenty of other options.
Virgin Media delivers fast speeds through its own network that combines cable and fibre. But coverage varies and you're more likely to have access if you live in a city.
For rural broadband you're better off with one of the many providers on the BT Openreach network. These include:
FAQs
Are TalkTalk broadband and TV deals good?
TalkTalk's TV offering is a simple, low commitment add-on to your broadband package. TalkTalk TV costs just £5 a month and you have the option to ditch it with a month's notice if it's not right for you.
For that fiver, you get access to the TalkTalk TV Hub, a set-top box with 4K Ultra HD clarity.
- Included: the full range of Freeview channels
- Not included, but supported: all the well-known streaming apps
TalkTalk used to offer TV deals with NOW and Netflix included at a cheaper rate than for these services on their own. Sadly they scrapped this a few years ago. You can still access every popular streaming app with your TalkTalk TV Hub but there's no billing integration or discount.
Can I haggle with TalkTalk?
Yes, you can haggle with any broadband provider! Go.Compare research in March 2025 found that broadband and TV are the services people find easiest to successfully haggle over. 48% of people we surveyed had gained a saving just by speaking directly to their provider rather than simply accepting the terms offered. Check out our tips on haggling with your broadband provider .
Can I get TalkTalk broadband without a phone line?
Yes. These days you no longer need a phone line to get a broadband service. As you've read, home phone services are an optional add-on to TalkTalk packages and they'll all be a digital voice service.
Can I get a TalkTalk router upgrade for free?
TalkTalk will always provide the most suitable router for the broadband service you've chosen. If you upgrade to the Full Fibre 500 or Full Fibre 900 deal, you'll get an Amazon eero router included as standard.
If you've been with TalkTalk for a while and the minimum term of your contract is up, now is a great time to compare broadband deals. If you decide to stay with TalkTalk and take out a fresh contract, you'll get a new router with it. This will be newer and higher spec than whatever router you got with your old contract.
If you're still mid-contract, it's unlikely you'll get a router upgrade for free. If your router is faulty or they suspect it's causing time to Wi-Fi outages, it's possible TalkTalk will replace it for you.
Are there TalkTalk deals for pensioners?
TalkTalk doesn't have any broadband offers specifically for pensioners. If you're on a budget, your best course of action is to find a deal that meets your needs without paying extra for unwanted bandwidth or TV channels you don't watch. Check out our guide to broadband for pensioners for more information.
Does TalkTalk have a social tariff?
No, as of November 2025 TalkTalk isn't offering any social tariffs or discounts for people with money worries.
TalkTalk used to run a scheme offering free broadband for jobseekers, in partnership with the Department for Work and Pensions. This ended in March 2025 so you can't apply to this scheme. But if you're already receiving free broadband, we’ve been informed by TalkTalk that you’ll get it for six months after the date you joined.
What is better: BT or TalkTalk?
At the moment, TalkTalk’s deals are cheaper than BT’s:
Price comparison
| Speed category | BT broadband | TalkTalk |
|---|---|---|
| 150 Mbps | £28.99 | £25 |
| 500 Mbps | £31.99 | £30 |
| 900 Mbps | £35.99 | £30 |
TalkTalk also has a slight edge when it comes to minimum guaranteed speeds for a category. For example, TalkTalk's Fibre 150 deal guarantees at least 120 Mbps, while BT can only promise 100 Mbps.
Customer experience
BT’s customer service had fewer complaints to Ofcom than TalkTalk in the latest data. However, its Trustpilot score is lower than TalkTalk's. BT currently has a rating of 1.3, which is classed as 'Bad', while TalkTalk has a score of 2.6.
The BT reviews on Trustpilot relate to all parts of the business, including mobile phone services and landlines, so this may not be a fair way to assess the experience of broadband customers. It's always worth taking the time to glance through the most recent reviews and check to see how the company responds.
