SOGEA stands for single order generic ethernet access, which uses the old copper phone lines to connect your property to the telephone exchange on your street. That said, you don’t need an active phone line to access the internet.

The rest of V4 Consumer’s broadband deals use a full fibre connection, which is capable of delivering much higher speeds.
